Ensuring Equal Opportunities in Wellness Training and Assessment
Purpose
The purpose of this Reasonable Adjustments Policy is to outline the processes and procedures that Dolores Andrew follows to ensure that clients with disabilities, physical or mental health conditions are not substantially disadvantaged during training or assessment while working towards CPD certification. As a sole trader, I am committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that accommodates the diverse needs of all participants.
Scope
This policy applies to all clients enrolled in my wellness training programmes who have disabilities or physical or mental health conditions that may impact their ability to participate fully in the training and assessment process.
Policy Statement
As a sole trader, I recognise the importance of providing equal opportunities for all clients, regardless of their individual circumstances. I am dedicated to making reasonable adjustments that will enable clients with disabilities or health conditions to engage fully with my training programmes and assessments. These adjustments are designed to ensure that no client is unfairly disadvantaged.
Definition of Reasonable Adjustments
Reasonable adjustments are changes or accommodations made to the training or assessment process to ensure that clients with disabilities or health conditions can participate on an equal basis with others. These adjustments are made on a case-by-case basis and may include, but are not limited to:
Modifications to training materials (e.g., large print).
Adjustments to assessment methods (e.g., extended time, alternative formats).
Physical accessibility adjustments (e.g., wheelchair access, seating arrangements).
For people with noise sensitivity issues sending recordings of sessions where they can adjust the volume and listen at their own pace.
Requesting Reasonable Adjustments
Disclosure and Communication
Clients are encouraged to disclose any disabilities or health conditions that may require reasonable adjustments at the time of registration or as soon as the need arises.
Clients can contact me directly to discuss their needs and request reasonable adjustments.
Assessment of Needs
Once a request is made, I will work closely with the client to assess their specific needs and determine the most appropriate adjustments.
In some cases, I may seek input from medical professionals or other experts to ensure that the adjustments are suitable and effective.
Implementation of Adjustments
Agreed-upon adjustments will be implemented as soon as possible to ensure that the client can participate fully in the training and assessment process.
I will monitor the effectiveness of the adjustments and make any necessary modifications.
Confidentiality
All information related to a client’s disability or health condition will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. Details will only be shared with relevant parties when necessary to implement the adjustments.
Review of Adjustments
I will review the effectiveness of reasonable adjustments regularly to ensure they continue to meet the client’s needs.
Clients are encouraged to provide feedback on the adjustments and to inform me if their needs change.
Policy Review
This Reasonable Adjustments Policy will be reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with best practices and legal requirements. Any updates to the policy will be communicated to clients.
